In a significant development aimed at bolstering the education sector, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir has recently issued Notification No: 01 of 2023 on 20-12-2023.
This notification invites online applications for the position of Special Educators on a contractual basis under the Samagra Shiksha, J&K – PM Shri scheme.
This move reflects the government’s commitment to inclusive education and addressing the educational needs of diverse learners.
Position Details:
The available positions include Special Education Teachers (SETs), with 34 posts allocated to the Kashmir Division and 35 posts to the Jammu Division, making a total of 69 posts.
These educators will play a crucial role in shaping the academic experiences of students with special needs, fostering a more inclusive learning environment.
Eligibility Criteria:
Prospective candidates are required to meet certain eligibility criteria, including holding a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University with at least 50% marks in the concerned subjects. Additionally, a B.Ed. Spl. Ed. or its equivalent from an RCI recognized Institute is mandatory.
Ensuring the quality of education, the Degree/Diploma/certificate in Special Education must be recognized/approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).
Age Limit:
Applicants should note that the age requirement for applying against these positions, as of 01-01-2023, is a maximum of 40 years. Individuals should not be born before 01.01.1983 and not after 01.01.2005.
Domicile Requirement:
Candidates must be domiciles of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possess a domicile certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format as of the last date prescribed for the submission of the online application form.
Application Process:
To apply, candidates are required to submit their applications online through the official website of the Directorate of Samagra Shiksha (www.samagrashikshajk.nic.in) from 20.12.2023 to 05.01.2024. It is crucial to adhere to this timeline, as no other means/mode of application will be accepted.
During the application process, candidates should upload a recent passport-size colored photograph and ensure that all applications are supported by self-attested certificates/testimonials.
Any false, incomplete, incorrect, forged, or tampered information provided by the candidate will result in the cancellation of the candidature without notice.
Selection Criteria:
The selection process will be based on a point system that takes into account the qualifications and additional relevant higher qualifications in special education. In case of a tie in points, the candidate with higher marks percentage in B.Ed. Sp. Ed will be given preference.
If the tie persists, it will be resolved based on undergraduate marks, with higher age being considered if needed.
